What is NuvaRing?
NuvaRing, manufactured by Organon, is the trade name for a combined hormonal contraceptive vaginal ring used for birth control. It contains ethinyl estradiol and a relatively high dose of etonogestrel, a metabolite of desogestrel, which has been recognized as a dangerous progestin. NuvaRing has been associated with adverse side effects such as:
- Blood Clots
- Stroke
- Heart Attack
- Deep Vein Thrombosis
- Myocardial Infarction
- Cerebrovascular Accidents
- Pulmonary Embolism
- Death
- What Is The Safety Problem With NuvaRing And Why Are Lawsuits Being Filed
- As a result of case reports made by women and their doctors, NuvaRing use is associated with serious side effects resulting from blood clots, such pulmonary embolism (PE) and deep vein thrombosis (DVT) as well as strokes and heart attacks, with some events resulting in death.
