What is Meridia?
Meridia is the name under which Abbott Laboratories markets a prescription
diet medication generically called sibutramine. The drug is also sold
as Reductil, Reduxade, and Ectiva in Europe. Sibutramine has been under
much scrutiny of late because health agencies in Italy, France, the United
Kingdom, Canada, and the United States have expressed safety concerns
about Meridia.
