Enbrel (etanercept) is classified as a biologic response modifier, and is similar to a protein found in the body. Enbrel is a TNF (tumor necrosis factor) inhibitor drug used for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis and psoriatic arthritis. Enbrel works by capturing TNF and making the protein inactive.
